Ping List for Blogs - Get Your Blog Noticed
Every blog that wants to generate traffic should have a good ping list. There are services on the internet that track blogs. Pinging lets those services know that your blog has been updated. The purpose of pinging is to notify those services that you want them to crawl and index your site. Ultimately, you want to let the world know that your blog has fresh content.
I’ve been asked numerous times lately what I use for a ping list. Here is my current ping list. If you have any to add, or if you see any that are outdated, please leave a comment

So, I see the ping list and understand the concept, but am not clear on the execution. How do you “ping” these sites?
Thanks in advance.

Darlene,
In Wordpress, under Settings, then under Writing, there is a place to enter your list of sites to ping. Once you create a post, the pinging is done automatically.
Hope that helps.
